Friends and People we Respect
LePou
LePou has been a supportive, great guy to all of us at AcmeBarGig, we would not have opened a website without giving him a mention. His Excellent Solo_C amp sim has definately taken the amp sim world by storm, and rightly so. It is an excellent piece of work. He is a very humble man considering how excellent his stuff is. Our suggestion is that you definitely go and get Solo_C, Its free, but really, try and make a donation to this excellent developer who spends a lot of time to bring you these things.. I had a conversation with LePou and his new stuff is going to be just fantastic. I personally love the direction that he is going in with Solo_C.

Recabinet
We've had some great support from the guys at Recabinet and we really admire their approach to developing and selling software. For those who aren't aware of what Recabinet is, here's a description from their site:
'Recabinet is a library of convolution impulse responses, a technology that until now has been primarily used to create hyper-realistic reverb based on real-world spaces and coveted vintage reverb gear. The Recabinet library will load into any convolution reverb plugin - effectively transforming these great reverb plugins into virtual guitar cabinets.'
We really appreciate the efforts the guys at Recabinet have gone through to build up and distribute such an awesome library of impulse responses and we're pleased to feature them here as a Friend of Acme!
Nick Walton and Wyres Strings

Nick at wyres strings is a great guy and someone we all look up to here at ABG. Ken is actually endorsed by Wyres strings and we fully recommend you check them out, here's a sample from their site:
'Wyres Strings began from humble beginnings. Our philosophy has always been to test, develop and make the best musical strings possible. Naturally as musicians, we are exceptionally discerning and try to employ our most creative skills to develop great products. Very often musicians will be invited into the factory to test strings and give us real time feedback. In technical areas unfamiliar to us we do consult engineers, chemists and even metallurgists for advice and we try to incorporate new ideas into our production. Our 1st generation of P.T.F.E. (polymer tetra-fluoro-ethylene) coated strings is a prime example of one of these innovations which we debuted at the NAMM 1997 Show in Anaheim, California. We have continued improving on our P.T.F.E. coated string process and are today offering a 3rd generation P.T.F.E. coating.'
Wyres really do produce some of the highest quality strings you'll ever play and we're pleased and honoured to call them a Friend of Acme.
Nick Crow Lab
There is not a lot of developers that have consistently given us great sims and effects like Nick. Acme hasn't known Nick for all that long, but from what we know he is a great guy and his plugs are fantastic. Once again, we definitely think you should go to nicks site and try his stuff out.
There are too many top notch amp sims available for free, There really is no need to spend $300-$400 on something commercial. Because of Guys like Nick, LePou, and AcmeBarGig, Commercial Sim makers have had to take count and make their stuff worth the money. For that reason alone you should support these guys and make a donation. If you bought a great commercial amp sim, it is that way in part because of these guys constantly raising the bar on what's available for free..
So make a simple donation to them. It makes the developer feel like what they are doing is worthwhile. This in turn leads to you getting more and better effects and Sims.

Leif Oddson
Graphic and website to come
Leif Oddson is an extremely adept developer with very strong mathematical skills. I (Ken) look at his code and have to read it 4 times before I start to understand what the heck he is doing. This is not because its messy, its just complex. He was instrumental in the First release of Duel Gain, then DIG 1.03. All amp Sims after Duel Gain have some of Leif's code
in them.
Run Beer Run (Computer Guitarist)

Run Beer Run is one of those rare developers that seems to thrive on experimental effects and Sims. We first encountered RBR when we released Guts. Ever since then RBR has been a supportive asset to us. He is frank with his opinion, and as a result we have made changes to our effects and Sims. One of the things that I (Ken) took into account when making DIG 2.0 was that RBR noted DIG 1.03 took to external distortions well, so I watched that it did not change in the new version 2.0
If you want a sound you are not going to get anywhere else, go check RBR's site and make a donation. His stuff will almost guarantee you a unique sound not found anywhere else on the web.
