I can concur with the report at GAM - SONAR 8.5.3 64-bit (newest build) in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit - NO SOUND at all. It works fine in Reaper 64-bit but no matter what I tried there's no sound in Sonar. Methinks a "Bridging" problem with Sonar bridging the 32-bit plug-in.

Strange, you may have to buy JBridge. It's $21 and usually fixes any issues with plugs that do not run on Sonar 64. I just had a major pc failure to where I had to buy a new DAW machine. I should have it in a few days. It has Bit Bridge and J Bridge installed on it. I'll let you know if JB fixes the issue once I get the box here and can test it. So far though, I'm having the same issues as you on my standard pc here running Win 7 64 with Sonar 64. We have older versions of Shred that work on Sonar 64, but Ken wasn't successful with cracking why they work and why our latest version does not. But let me try this JB thing when I get my new pc and report back to you, ok?

JB makes things like Abbey Road plugs and Melodyne work on Sonar 64. It's the back-up to Bit Bridge. You should have it anyway...and for $21, it's a good deal. To my knowledge, if you have both BB and JB, there is nothing you can't run on Sonar 64. But until I can test this myself and tell you for sure, the jury is still out. I'll report back to you on this as soon as I can. :)

very good... I also have Sonar 32-bit on a 32-bit partition but am using Reaper most of the time with 32-bit.

Click on the "Main" preset in Sonar, and it will work...

This is a posting by AmpVRoom at Guitar Amp Modeling..
Quote:
If click on "Main" at the top of the Sonar window that the plugin is loaded in (just to be clear this is not the main tab in Shred, but the actual "Main" button on that sonar window) I get a little dropdown message with "Main" and a checkmark by it. If I click that, then everything appears to be working as it should. No crashes so far when I do that.

At the very least that can be a work-around..sort of..

Strange, the latest version of Shred 1.5.40REV2 works perfectly in 64 for me. It takes it a little bit longer to boot up and initialize, but if you give it a few seconds and wait for the yellow text to go away, it should work perfectly for you. I'm not having any issues with it at all at this time. Nice job Ken whatever the hell you did. LOL! ;)

I take back what I said in my last post...I must have clicked main as this method allows it to work perfectly. I could have sworn I just let it load a few times, but I must have clicked main because it did not work at all until I did 5 out of 5 times. Simple work around that works really well and only takes less than a second.

Strange, can you test something for me please when you get a minute?

Run the 32 bit version of Sonar using our latest build of Shred.

Load up Shred and allow it to be visible without x-ing out of it. Then, minimize Sonar completely using the - (minus) at the top of the program next to the X.

When you do this, is Shred still visible to you, or did it minimize with Sonar?

Next, kill that and open up the 64 bit version of Sonar. Do the same thing as above. When you minimize Sonar, is Shred still visible on your screen? It is on my end, but it only seems to do this in the 64 bit version of Sonar. When I minimize in 32, Shred goes down with it. When I minimize in 64, Shred stays on my screen until I X out of it. It doesn't affect how it performs or anything, but for some reason it's not minimizing with Sonar. Just curious if it does it to you also. Thanks in advance. :)

it only refuses to minimize with the 64-bit... but IT WORKS! I can deal with the not minimizing problem as I don't normally minimize my DAW - also it seems there are other VST's that don't minimize properly (can't remember which ones right now but I seem to remember that happening before now) - BUT it's finally working right in Sonar 64-bit - YIPPPPPEEEE. Nice work Ken.
