AcmeBarGig started from the humblest of beginnings. Casting our minds back a few years, somewhere there’s foggy, sepia-tone memories of creating single-tube amp sims, forum attachments being our only method of distribution, coming up with clever acronyms and shitting in our own hood. That’s where we came from and it’s been a hell of a ride, but we’ll skip the indulgent stories and focus on what matters. Where we are and where we’re heading.
We are a VST company. We create software products for the amazing community of musicians. Everyone in this company is a musician and everyone in this company has devoted a significant portion of their life to creating, promoting, recording and enjoying music. Our ever-expanding software range includes guitar & bass amp suites, cabinet and room modeling and enhancement, delays, IR convolvers, tremolo’s on steroids, oh, and we invented the world’s first pickup replacement software along the way.
We strongly believe that serving a community that is always expanding its horizons, always innovating and constantly seeking out new, unique sounds, tones and timbres should mean that the companies facilitating this are themselves seeking this constant innovation in their software. We don’t want to copy what’s already out there, we want to release software that produces new tones to inspire new ideas. Just as music has evolved, we feel that the tools used to create it should evolve in the same manner: through a desire for a new paradigm of creativity, kindled and inspired by the innovations of the past.
We’ve come a long way over the past couple of years, but our aims aren’t showing any signs of changing. We are here to serve musicians, we are here to learn what musicians want and envision from software and we are here to make those visions come to life.
